On the Mixtape front...

Mysteriously been channeling a Grey's Anatomy soundtrack this week. It all started off with one of those epic dreams that plays out like a movie with a plot and character developement and is synched with the time you wake up. Serious REM time.

PLOT:
I'm part of a group of friends. I have the hots for the adventurous girl with bags of talent and balls to take on the world. We drink brandy and pull off huge graffiti murals. We have a connection but nothing ever comes of it. Another girl in the group likes me and takes me aside in the near end of the dream to profess her love. I tell her that i can't like her back in the same way because i just dont feel that way about her. She's distressed but not shattered and drives me out to meet the Adventurous Girl (who look curiously like Bryce Dallas Howard) who has decided to leave town in search of her destiny. We zoom past her on the road and pull over. I get out and walk toward her and profess my love and we fall laughing into the field to the right of the road where it goes without saying that I will accompany her on the adventure. (alarm goes off and i have to get the kid's up for school)

Part Some Kind of Wonderful, Part early 00's teen situational drama.

McDonald's???

Today's car conversation with the most lovely B-Love:

b: What is that yellow car in front of us called again?
lw: That's a taxi.
b: Is it a pizza car?
lw: No. That is a car you can call to take you places if you don't have a car.
b: Like McDonald's!?!!?!?

Why is it that kids fixate on McDonald's? Not like the Lovelywife or I take the kid's there in any sort of regularity.
Is it the toys in that unnecessary waste of paperboard lunch box? Is it color addictions? Being a designer, i have read articles about how color affects appetite and in most cases, just appeals to some subconcious nerve that sets off an alarm that says, "I need to pump harmful trans fats and refined sugars into my body."

Something to think about as you go into Nordstom's or Old Navy next time. Why are you buying another pair of jeans to add to your collection of 25 pairs of jeans? Are you feeling the need for that texture, color, label, shiny button, or yellow accent stitching? Do they hurt so good? Is it the font of the Nordstrom logo?
