Still Cleaning the Paint From My Floors

I've been errant in my duties to keep you up-to-date. I
became far to involved in purchasing art supplies for The
Art Closet's first week/season that I forgot my postings
and instead bought up entire supplies of paint-n-bake mugs
and 6x6 canvases.
My feelings about the first week of TAC were very positive.
Everyone got 2 canvases finished and we had some fun with
sculpting clay. Pulled off a field trip to the Wild Animal
Sanctuary ( http://wildlife-conservation.com/ ) for some
field sketching and spied some big cats. We might even have
a go at raising money to sponsor one of those cats via
lemonade stand type activities in the coming weeks.
I'm going to take some pics of the artwork and get it up in
a gallery this week so that you can see the talent. I swear
it all walked through the door and all I'm trying to do is
dial it in so that it works more efficiently. A solid bunch
of kids last week. But then onto the next couple of weeks
and what to do. Patterns is the next topic and i have a
nice arsenal of projects planned that involve more mess
making. Monoprints and multi-plate block printing. Going to
turn some of them into postcards for the grandparents.
Refrigerator type art. It'll be madness. And of course more
swimming. My summer tan is coming along great after week 1.
I'm going to look fabulous when my pal Chip comes to
Colorado for a visit at the end of the month.
Stay tuned for week 1's gallery and if you are still
looking for something to stimulate the minds of your
kiddlings, Week 2 still has a slot or 2 open.

Geez, It only took me a month to get a grasp on all the
closing ceremonies and end-of-year parties for the kiddies
elementary schooling. Now i have to focus down and get
emails out to all the folks who made verbal commitments to
the first Art Closet Summer Camp season. I have 3 weeks to
finish preps and buy supplies. My young protege and I are
very excited after a friday meeting with my pal, Lindsey
Kuhn and his idea to do a bit of screen printing with the
kids for all 3 camps. That excites me.

Dust, Hail and Alot of Heavy Breathing

Oi! Back from the NFD (North Fruita Desert) where we logged
a quick 30 miles in the dust. We dropped about 16 miles in
Loma, CO on the Kokopelli and then did some exploring
during the rainstorm that lasted all day saturday. We found
the Lunch Loops in GJ and Colorado National Monument (think
dino bones). Logged the rest of the miles back outta the
campsite at 18Road, making it out for a Kessel Run at night
after filling all the pre-reqs that put a solid blur to
things.

Plenty To Gawk At

Posted by SWRL on 16 April 2009 | 0 Comments

I've been diggin up code info for the sight and getting some
face time in with friends. My pal [t] out in SanJosey wa
bustin my chops about my sight having lorem ipsum on a
couple of pages so i've been writing. My pal [constantine]
has been being nice to me and hookin me up with a couple of
shows. I like to see the faces and they always look at me
like they know me but they're not sure who I am.
Mastadon at the Fox on Tuesday was the heavy heavy monster
sound. Quaffed a couple PBRs and took in the sounds. It was
killer. Tattoo Demigod, Jeff Kopp, said the new album was
very Pink Floyd concept albumish, and I would concur. One
song led into the next and after about 40 minutes I felt
delirious. Great show and great group to take it in with.
Sherwood from Enemy Reign turned me on to their new disc in
between bands. Go check them out at www.enemyreign.com for
some heavy sounds.

As you might notice, the home page here is missing a
sidebar....
It seems that the great Internet God, Al Gore, has taken my
sidebar and left me out to dry. My vanity and bragging have
vexed me and left me with nothing to show. We are working
on finding where it was stowed and getting it back into the
limelight where it belongs.
As coding isn't my forte, my man on the scene, Mr Bundy is
helping me wade thru the mire of odd tags and lines to
continue to pull the site together. I figa that i'll keep
it live since I hate going somewhere and finding it closed
for renovations. We are a work in progress and you get to
watch it all happen.

I've been updating all week and in my spare time around 2am
i started the "Big Digg" in my boxes of cassette tapes to
unearth some of the archive. I picked out some Great Train
Robbery and some other fine little musical tidbits from
Buffalo. You may have heard of a band called the Goo Goo
Dolls? I have a couple of trax from their first release on
Mercenary Records. Dropped those in there too.

Success!! After taking on more than i could chew, I've
finally sat for 3-days straight and whittled this labor of
love out (with the help of my good friend, Mr Bundy). As
the week progresses, i am looking toward filling in all the
blanks and perhaps adding a few more, as i bring myself up
to ramming speed on the new CMS that we have taken under
out roof for the benefit of our clients.
